Established in 1975, we are a not-for-profit long Daycare and funded Kindergarten located alongside the Wingate Avenue Community Centre in Ascot Vale. Our Community has an active role in all aspects of the service and we pride ourselves on our connections and engagement with families.
Wingate Avenue embeds the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework throughout the service with a child-led focus. Wingate aims to enhance each child's individual learning from birth to five years of age, as well as support their transition to school with funded Kindergarten programs for children aged three and four.
Our educators are a highly trained team of early learning professionals who pride themselves on inclusive practices and an emergent program that caters to children's individual needs and goals. Our educators work alongside the community, families, and children in order to create authentic and ongoing relationships.

"I have tried many child care centres with my daughter and was unhappy with all of them until I experienced Wingate Child Care. Wow, what an amazing place!! From my first tour with J I was sold on the happy children, the smiling staff, the HUGE outdoor play areas and the beautiful play areas inside. My daughter wanted to stay after the tour!! Within the first 2 weeks of being there, my daughter had met the pet rabbit, the pet tortoises and was even part of seeing the baby chickens hatch out!! The food was healthy and she loved eating there. The group time was well thought out and taught the children to sit quietly, learn new subjects and follow the rules of cleaning up as a team. They even did Yoga one day! I highly recommend this centre, we were sad to leave to attend sessional 4 year old kinder this year, but always have fond memories. Thank you, Wingate!"
